2023-2024 Claiming our Winter
In 2023, a Skating Program was launched for the youth at Teen Haven! Skates were purchased and facilities were mapped out for the 12 weeks and, a skating instructor with social work background was recruited and brought onboard to lead and instruct the youth! Although there were many slippery sessions, it all came together and the youth left each session with smiles on their faces along with a few bumps and bruises.

En 2023, un programme de patinage a été lancé pour les jeunes de Teen Haven! Des patins ont été achetés et des installations ont été cartographiées pour les 12 semaines et un instructeur de patinage ayant de l’expérience en travail social a été recruté et amené à bord pour diriger et instruire les jeunes! Bien qu’il y ait eu de nombreuses séances glissantes, tout s’est mis en place et les jeunes ont quitté chaque séance avec des sourires sur le visage ainsi que quelques bosses et ecchymoses.
2022 Jumpstarting new opportunities
In 2022, the Teen Haven and Change Through Sport partnership was awarded a grant from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities to increase access to sports for the at-risk youth residing at the group home. For many of the youth, they were able accessed the sport of beach volleyball for the first time!
Thank you to Jumpstart for providing funds to support the purchasing of equipment and rent the beach courts!

En 2022, le partenariat Teen Haven et Change Through Sport a reçu une subvention de la Bienfaisance Bon départ de Canadian Tire pour accroître l’accès aux sports pour les jeunes à risque résidant dans le foyer de groupe. Pour beaucoup de jeunes, ils ont pu accéder au sport du volleyball de plage pour la première fois!

2021 Collaboration with Teen Haven & Tennis Québec
On November 3, 2021, Change Through Sport visited Verdun, Québec, to host a tennis workshop with youth from Teen Haven, a non-profit residential group home dedicated to the welfare and support of youth in need.
Despite the fading light and cool temperatures, the event was filled with fun and, of course, a healthy dose of teenage wit! Thank you Teen Haven for having us. We look forward to visiting again to further support the amazing work that you do.

Le 3 novembre 2021, Changer par le Sport s’est rendu à Verdun, au Québec, pour animer un atelier de tennis avec des jeunes de Havre Jeunesse, un foyer de groupe résidentiel sans but lucratif dédié au bien-être et au soutien des jeunes dans le besoin. Malgré la lumière qui s’estompe et les températures fraîches, l’événement était rempli de plaisir et, bien sûr, d’une bonne dose d’esprit adolescent! Merci Havre Jeunesse de nous avoir reçus. Nous sommes impatients de vous rendre visite à nouveau pour soutenir davantage le travail incroyable que vous faites.
